Pattern and Pictograms
Informative and decorative. Patterns and ideograms lining the corridors of intergalactic libraries, spaceships.
The brutalist interior of UoT’s Robarts Library played the Eternal Library, a grand old catalogue of all the knowledge of the Known Universe. Pattern creation made up a bulk of the ideation process for decorating the space. Carpets, wall-hangings, bookshelf edges were covered in alien patterns and lettering.
Like any library, the space included rather anachronistic guiding headers, catalogue labels, and other informative signage.
